Ustaz Qayyum read law at the International Islamic University Malaysia, graduating in 2010. He started off as a trainer in 2006 with Yayasan Pendidikan Khalifah. When the secondary school under the foundation opened in 2013, he was asked to be the principal but was in a dilemma as he had received an offer to be a Syariah Court judge. Fortunately, he rejected the offer and decided to head the newly founded Khalifah Model School Secondary. Apart from overseeing all activities in the school, he also teaches a subject called Khalifah Method to the forms 1 and 2 students.
Ustaz Hasrizal is a household name in Malaysia. He is well known for his blog saifulislam.com which he founded in 1998. Holding Bachelor of Art in Sharia and Islamic Studies from Mu’tah University, Jordan, his working experience is varied, having being appointed by the al-Maktoom Foundation UAE as the Minister of Religion in Belfast Islamic Centre, Northern Ireland, and many years in both corporate and youth training upon his return to Malaysia in 2004. In 2014, he was approached by the Board with an offer to be the Academic Director of KMSS. To everyone’s pleasant surprise, he agreed right away and has become instrumental in bringing many positive changes to the school including the introduction of the IGCSE curriculum as well as a focus on progressive student-centered learning. He is currently pursuing a Master of Art (Education) programme at the University of Oulu, Finland in the field of Learning, Education and Technology (LET).
Dr Aqtar graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a medical degree in 2012. After working as a doctor for a very short time, he resigned and decided to pursue his passion in teaching. He taught in two government schools for about a year and half as a substitute teacher before pursuing a master’s degree in Integrative Neuroscience at Edinburgh University also. Upon return from Edinburgh, he was offered a job as Chemistry and Biology teacher at KMSS. Currently, he is Head of Academic Division and teaches Islamiyyat and Biology at IGCSE level, apart from being a tutor for the tahfiz program.
Mrs. Nurul Huda has been with Yayasan Pendidikan Khalifah since 2010, serving initially as a teacher in the primary school. She joined the secondary school when it was opened in 2013. She graduated from the International Islamic University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences majoring in English Language and Literature and minoring in Islamic Revealed Knowledge. Currently she teaches English at Foundation IGCSE level and is also in charge of the Lifelong Learning Module. She is also the head of the Assessment Unit. She has attended a teacher training workshop on the effective delivery of the IGCSE Curriculum, organized by Excel IGCSE Academy in collaboration with their UK partner, Hillcrest Revision Courses Ltd.
Sir Lukman has been with Yayasan Pendidikan Khalifah since 2012, teaching in the primary school for a year before moving to the secondary school when it started in 2013. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the International Islamic University, Malaysia. He currently teaches Business Studies at IGCSE level and is also the Coordinator for the IGCSE program, overseeing all matters from timetabling to exam registration.
Sir Muzzamil graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management Science from University Malaya. He joined KMSS in December 2013 and currently teaches Mathematics at IGCSE level. He began his journey in education by providing home tuition and has been a personal Mathematics tutor since 2012. Being a person who loves voluntary activities he was actively involved in the school’s Feed the Needy programme in 2014 and managed to raise RM15, 000 to help needy families in Kampung Labu Lanjut, Sepang Selangor.
He is also in charge of the school’s co-operative (Koperasi KMSS) and the Chess Club. He has a certificate for a teacher training workshop on the effective delivery of the IGCSE Curriculum, organized by Excel IGCSE Academy in collaboration with their UK partner, Hillcrest Revision Courses Ltd.
Ustaz Afif joined the school when it was founded in 2013. He graduated from USIM with a bachelor’s degree in Quran and Sunnah and is a hafiz of the Quran. He also has a diploma in Tahfiz and Dakwah from Darul Quran JAKIM. He is one of the tahfiz tutors in the school, and teaches Islamic History and Da’wah to the forms 1 and 2 students. An ardent sportsman himself, he is the teacher in charge of the Football Club and frequently helps to organize adventure filled activities like hiking, caving and trekking for students and teachers alike.
Ustazah Aishah has been with KMSS since it was founded in 2013. She graduated with a degree in Quran and Sunnah from USIM (University Sains Islam Malaysia) and is a hafizah of the Quran. She also holds a diploma in Tahfiz and Dakwah from Darul Quran JAKIM. She is currently the head of the tahfiz unit and also teaches Islamic Studies to the forms 1 and 2 students. She is also the teacher in charge of Aikido.
Mrs. Mashitah joined KMSS in December 2013. She is a graduate of Economics from the International Islamic University, Malaysia. Currently she teaches mathematics at foundation IGCSE level and is also head of the co-curriculum unit. She has a certificate for a teacher training workshop on the effective delivery of the IGCSE Curriculum, organized by Excel IGCSE Academy in collaboration with their UK partner, Hillcrest Revision Courses Ltd.
Sir Amin joined the school in 2014. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in History from the International Islamic University and currently teaches History to the forms 1 and 2 students. He is in charge of the library and also the badminton club. In his free time, he teaches Fardhu Ain as part of a rehabilitative program to drug addicts at the Pusat Pemulihan Dadah Dengkil under the surveillance of AADK (Agensi Anti-Dadah Kebangsaan).
Ustaz Umar is a graduate of Al-Azhar University, Egypt in the field of Usuluddin and is about to finish his master’s degree in Hadith at UKM. He also studied Arabic intensively in Kuliyyah al-Ulum at the University of Cairo. He started off teaching on a part time basis at the school in 2014 and was employed as a full time teacher in 2015. He has taught Arabic at USIM as part of the Arabic Support Learning Program (ASLP). He currently teaches Arabic at both foundation and IGCSE levels. He is in charge of Table Tennis Club and oversees maintenance issues in the school.
Mrs. Nadhirah graduated with a degree in Electrical Enginerring and Communications from UniTEN and is finishing her master’s thesis in the field of Electrical and Electronic Enginerring with UKM. She joined us in February 2016 and teaches Additional Mathematics at IGCSE level. She is also the head of the Lifelong Learning Module (LLM) and is part of the Assessment Unit.
Mrs. Izatulnadia joined KMSS in June 2016. She obtained her first degree in the field Electrical Engineering (major control systems) and then went on to do a master’s degree in Engineering Science (mechanical control)s at the University of Malaya, graduating in 2012. She worked as an engineer in 2 companies before deciding to pursue a career in teaching here in KMSS. She teaches Physics at IGCSE level and is also in charge of the library as well as the Taekwondo Club. She has a certificate for a teacher training workshop on the effective delivery of the IGCSE Curriculum, organized by Excel IGCSE Academy in collaboration with their UK partner, Hillcrest Revision Courses Ltd.
Sir Hazwan recently joined us in August 2016. He studied chemistry under a MARA scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and graduated with a bechelor’s degree in February 2015. He teaches Chemistry at IGCSE level and is also the Science Coordinator, as well as teacher in charge of a newly founded club, the bakery science club. He has a certificate for a teacher training workshop on the effective delivery of the IGCSE Curriculum, organized by Excel IGCSE Academy in collaboration with their UK partner, Hillcrest Revision Courses Ltd.
Miss Nazierah graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Malaya. She started teaching in KMSS in September 2016. She teaches Geography and Bahasa Melayu at Foundation IGCSE level and is also the teacher in charge for the Netball Club and also the school co-operative. She taught Geography previously as part of her university practical programme and as a substitute teacher.
Miss Fify, as she is called, joined KMSS in October 2016, and teaches Malay Language at IGCSE level. She graduated from UKM with a degree in Linguistics in 2014. She has been giving tuition to students since she graduated. She is also in charge of the Dakwah Melody Club.
Sir Haizal Bin Ramley is a part time teacher at KMSS who joined us in the middle of 2016. He graduated with a BSc. with Edu. (TESL), from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2005. He has many years experience of teaching English and currently teaches English for Academic Purposes as well as Study and Critical Thinking Skills at UniKL NAFAS. In KMSS, he teaches English as a Second Language at IGCSE level and frequently helps to become the Master of Ceremonies for school events given his deep voice and articulate oration.
Sir Mukhriz Abdul Rahman joined KMSS in January 2017 as a teacher, teaching ICT to the forms 1 and 2 students. He has a bachelor’s degree from Multimedia University in the field of Information Technology majoring in software engineering. He has 9 year experience in the field of ICT, holding various positions in different companies including NEC, Cisco System and Getronics Solutions. He currently works at G4S as a Strategic Accounts Manager and thus works on a part time basis at KMSS.
Bro Nazim Bin Idrus joined KMSS in August 2017 as a staff.
